Dharamshala
is located at 1650 mtrs( 5400 Ft) above sea level in Himachal
Pradesh , India. Dharamshala is headquarters of Kangra district,
Dharamshala Came in exsistance in year 1849 when it was selected as
a site to accommodate a military regiment that was being raised in
the town , Dharamshala was foremed as a cantonment for troops
stationed at Kangra and it was fully occupied by troops of Garrisson
and there was insufficient space for civil station , Search for a
alternate location was need of time and an ideal location for troops
was found at slopes of Dhauladhar ranges, On that hill one Hindu
Sanctuary or ' Dharamshala" was located , Same name chosen for newly
foremd town.
Dharamshala stands at the foot of Dhaualdhar and provides
magnificent views of snow capped mountains, Deodar & Pine forests
and tea garden are add on beauties.
The snow line is very easiliy accessible at Dharamshala, Now
Dharamshal has got international importnace as His holiness Dalai
Lama is residing here and many Tibetan settlements are done here.
Dharamshala is devided in two parts one as lower Dharamshala where
civil area & business area are located and Upper Dharamshala with
places like Mcleodganj & Forsyth Ganj are located.

Government in exile , It gained international identity as major
Budhdhist centre and prominet persobality started visiting
Dharamshala.
Bhagsunag Falls: Bhagsunga is located 11 kms from Dharamshala town &
3 Kms from Mcleodganj , Bhagsunag has a ancient temple of lor Shiva
and also has a fresh water spring , water falls, People enjoy
bathing in chilly water of water fall, Tourist can reach Bhagsunag
by motorable road.
St. John's Church : St. Jons' church is located 8 kms from
Dharamshala in between Mcleodganj & Forsythganj forest.
Dharamkot:
Dharamkot is situated 14 Kms from Dharamshala town and located on a
hillcrest, Dharamkot is a favourite picnic spot & provides beautiful
views of Kangra valley & Dhauldhar range. Dharamkot is approachable
by a easy trek from Bhagsunag, Dharamkot is the area where Gaddi
